On Ubuntu Gutsy, if you have installed KDE 4.0, as per this page on Kubuntu.org, you might notice that in Gnome , your Skype font is much too large.
The solution is to
sudo apt-get qt4-qtconfig
then, from the terminal , type
/usr/bin/qtconfig-qt4
You will notice that the QT window has fonts about the same size as the big Skype ones. Change them using the QT Config interface, select File -> Save.
Your Skype fonts will then be back to something more normal in Gnome.

Howdy there. I am running Skype (downloaded from their site) on Ubuntu Hardy. My fonts in Skype are tiny. 6pt maybe? I tried using qtconfig to no avail, and then tried kcontrol and that didn't do a thing either. (I followed those instructions from one of the Ubuntu tutorial pages on Skype.)
Any ideas on this? One forum user said that qtconfig would not work with his machine because of static/nonstatic Ubuntu issues? Never heard of that. Think that could be giving me grief? Thanks for any ideas you have on this.
Ah, never mind. It was qtconfig that I had, not version 4. It works great! Thanks.
